DealPoint's mission is help individuals and organizations continuously improve the value they derive from their business deals and dispute settlements, with less friction and frustration.
We will fulfill our mission by fostering effective skills and providing effective tools and guidance, so that they build essential contracting capabilities as they do their business deals. We aspire to enhance work and personal lives by enabling people to benefit more from the legal system -- specifically, by effectively negotiating, managing and, when necessary, asserting their legal rights under, business contracts.
This aspiration is driven by two deep desires -- one, to see the legal system work well more often and for more people, and two, to put to good use the skills and talents of the firm's founder, developed over decades of experience as a lawyer and executive in corporate America.
We believe successful fulfilment of our mission depends upon helping build six powerful capabilities, and we aim to help our clients build and realize benefits from those capabilities, deal by deal. Those capabilities are: (1) negotiation, (2) project management, (3) critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, (4) conflict management, (5) understanding and writing contracts, and (6) hiring and working with legal resources.
Ultimately, we envision individuals, teams and organizations, with our help, getting more of what they really want in their legal relationships and effective use of the legal system. We envision the legal system working for them, not against them.
The firm will achieve its mission with solutions that combine ongoing counsel and coaching tools and other services to help clients build negotiation and other capabilities while applying those skills to their legal relationships.
In short, by changing the negotiation game, we intend to make the world better off by helping to make clients better off, through their negotiation-related capabilities and their legal relationships, one client at a time.
